Plot summary

Belle Carter, dedicated but exhausted head of beloved local nonprofit, Bedford House, has devoted her whole life to making Christmas bright for those in need. But with the holidays just days away, donations are down, time is running out, and Belle feels her efforts are slipping away. When the town’s Mayor announces a new nonprofit consultant, Clara James will be joining Belle to help, Belle fears she’s being replaced in the role that has defined her for years.

Tries to be heartwarming

5.9 stars.Usually I watch whatever movies the networks would advertise or popped up on the home page. I'm certain this is not one of those and it's not a film to point at and exclaim: "hey, here's one to watch, check it out." No, on the contrary, this is one to avoid for many reasons.The lead actress seems to be way off her game, if she has any. I saw her in a movie a couple years ago: 'Journey to Christmas' (an average movie). I say the same about her now as I did then, she is not convincing whatsoever. The lead male is fine, I've seen him a few times and he can stand on his own.The absolute worst part of this film is the story and script, which are lifeless.Absolutely nothing to see here folks, except it's a good church movie, not for fun, but for a good message to the congregation. It would be a nice way to fill in for a sermon when the pastor goes on vacation.I've learned that bad Christmas movies find a way to blend into the background. This is one of those. While it has a great Christian theme, it lacks any entertainment value.

I hate to have my first review of the year be entirely negative, but there was nothing good to say about this movie.Ash Tsai is Belle, who runs a mission providing care for those in need, and faces challenges keeping the place open.A noble endeavor, but this movie was just boring. Boring plot; boring acting; even the commercials were boring.And the worst part was an insipid sountrack running all through.Ash Tsai has become a staple in GAF movies, and her acting has improved some, but I am quite sure I won't be watching this one again.I gave it a generous 3.

Meh

It's not so much that this movie is bad, but it is very far from good.One heavy criticism I have is the "background" music. Background music should be below the viewer's conscious perception. This music was distracting. It overpowered at times. This network shows a lot of premiere movies with that problem but they may have been one of the worst.The story was repetitive. There were two constant themes running pretty much at the same time. 1 - Bedford House and the crew are going to fall short. 2 - Belle is a Christmas superhero. She rescued so many individuals from sorrowful circumstances. She is the Heart of Bedford House. Other than these, there didn't seem to be any other story. And the climax is anti-climatic.There was a romance trying to manifest, but it wasn't very romantic. Belle and Will spent time together, but it was more like old friends hanging out than romance. At times there was a tension between them.Belle was not a mentally healthy individual. She was a control freak. She had trouble letting others in. She was down on herself constantly. What I remember most about her was frowning.And the pace was boring. The acting wasn't great either. Ash Tsai looked out of place on several occasions. Marshall Williams also, but that may have been intentional for his character.
