Plot summary

Inspired by the picturesque paintings of Thomas Kinkade, The Christmas Cottage tells the semi-autobiographical tale of how a young boy is propelled to launch a career as an artist after he learns that his mother is in danger of losing the family home.

I see that there are people who like

I see that there are people who like this movie, but I guess there are lots of people who like Thomas Kinkade’s paintings of light. (Not me…) It’s got some big names, like Harden and Asner, but they didn’t help, and poor Peter O’Toole doesn’t seem to really understand where he is most of the time.

A miraculous movie that proves its own message

A miraculous movie that proves its own message! It begins, a pretty average movie, with some facepalm moments. Yet somehow, like flickers of light emerging from behind a tree, there are some extremely powerful moments throughout. By the end, the camera manages to rise above the tree, leaving the audience in glorious sunlight! I gave it one less star because of the tree that got in the way from time to time.

I love how in depth and pure this

I love how in depth and pure this movie was. I also love how it focused on the story instead of fame and fortune. Thomas Kinkade is one of my favorite artist and this was truly a movie for my collection.
