Plot summary

The plot of Children of the Corn: Runaway follows a young pregnant Ruth who escapes a murderous child cult in a small Midwestern town. She spends the next decade living anonymously in an attempt to spare her son the horrors that she experienced as a child. She lands in the small Oklahoma town, but something is following her. Now, she must confront this evil or lose her child.

A surprisingly unique and refreshing entry into the long running franchise with a great twist. Also, very interesting for it to continue the story of the 2009 remake timeline.

Ugh back to another bad entry to the

Ugh back to another bad entry to the franchise. It’s a meandering drama, not that this franchise has a format or consistent style but the lack of focus on horror feels too far away. Also there is no corn in the film. It’s really dull, unengaging and not entertaining. The character motivations don’t make sense so it’s hard to relate. There’s nothing wrong with the acting, it’s the writing that is a total failure. There are almost no redeeming features. 2009 was obnoxious and boring, this is not horror and boring, both are equally unwatchable.
