Nothing in this film makes sense and trying to understand the lore compared to the first film is just atrocious.

This is the first direct sequel. The cinematography

This is the first direct sequel. The cinematography and the editing combine to make an unpleasant and jarring experience. It’s probably the director mostly at fault. We knew Isaac is in the film but his reveal is so anticlimactic. Also he’s far less interesting and actually doesn’t really make sense within the lore. None of them are children. It’s the best story since the original but it’s a shame that it’s so boring and nothing happens, surely they could do more with the story. Or just do anything. Thankfully good casting again. The hallucinations are annoying. The middle section is slow. The whole midnight scene with the hose and cuckoo clock was bizarre. One of the worst endings to any film ever and overall the worst in the franchise so far.
