Plot summary

When Valerie returns home from prison years after killing her neighbour in an apparent drunk driving accident, she wants nothing more than to move on - until the deceased's son shows up at her door and it becomes clear that the past is not easily forgotten.

A typical indie English-Canadian movie; slow and simple with a lot unsaid, while trying hard to be profound. The consistently solid acting elevates the movie, but the resolution/ending is marred by unearned vagueness; reducing my rating from 3.5 to 2.5 stars.

I really wish wannabe-auteurs would stop mistaking a non-ending for a 'dramatic ending'. Marginal otherwise, and tediously slow.

Nothing good about a movie that drives you

Nothing good about a movie that drives you all the way to a cliff and never pushes you off. Poor excuse for a thriller
