Plot summary

After a tragedy, Sophie attends a summer camp where she encounters some camp bullies. But when Sophie joins the archery team, the girls form a tight squad led by their coach Percy. Along the way, Percy also helps Sophie come to terms with the loss of her mother, in an unexpected and magical way.

It is hard to categorize The Message. It

It is hard to categorize The Message. It attempts to be a faith-based movie, but its theology is vague and cliched. The screenplay and the acting are hokey to an extreme. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it. The actresses are attractive, the actor playing Percy has a natural charisma, and I recognized one very famous now-elderly actress from my childhood and even managed to remember her name: Mariette Hartley. It isn't high quality art, but it was a pleasant emotionally satisfying movie to watch on a nondescript weeknight.
