Plot summary

Exceptionally beautiful and rich extravaganza of a film

Exceptionally beautiful and rich extravaganza of a film; I absolutely love it. The music, the romance (in all the senses of the word), the visionary aspects of it ~ culturally and politically ~ and the pacing where you can bask in each scene in all its old world splendor and poetry, make this film a rare treat in modern times. It's a fairy tale in mythic proportions and I find myself deeply nourished and inspired by it. I did, though, get a bit bored and frustrated with the fighting and some of the drawn out scenes, yet still highly recommend it if you fancy a great story, told well. Vanessa Redgrave, Richard Harris and Franco Nero are excellent in this production and such fun to watch! Enjoy!
