Plot summary

Two mothers, disillusioned by failed marriages, team up to orchestrate a master plan to unite their freshman kids, Chandru and Madhu. But things get muddied when their Gen Z kids have other plans, leading to a clash of wills and generational divide.

Bun Butter Jam is like that chaotic sandwich you make at midnight-ridiculously tossed together but oddly satisfying. Raju Jeyamohan swaps his Bigg Boss microdrama for college hijinks, rubbing elbows with influencer crushes and emotionally constipated moms who still think "Instagram" is a new kitchen appliance. It starts as generational gap cliche overload (cue moms googling "reels" while kids zone out), but when the film finally chills and the kids just hang out, it morphs into a breezy, if slightly stale, romcom with enough teen angst and sandwich metaphors to make you giggle. Not quite Michelin star material, but charmingly cheesy-just like your midnight snack.

One time watchable but dont take it to ur mind.

Bun Butter Jam tries to deliver laughs, and to be fair, some of the comedy moments do land well. Raju has done a good job with his performance and carries many of the lighter scenes convincingly.However, the movie suffers heavily in terms of story. The writing feels shallow, and the core plotline normalizes problematic behavior-especially lusting after a friend's girlfriend-which is both disturbing and irresponsible. Comedy should not come at the cost of promoting unhealthy values.While audiences may enjoy a few laughs, the message the movie sends is harmful. Films like this may entertain for a moment but are ultimately bad for society because they normalize behavior that shouldn't be glorified.Verdict: Good comedy timing wasted on a very poor story with wrong messaging. ?
