While not perfect at all, it's a touching

While not perfect at all, it's a touching and well-handled film about love overall. An honest and complex rom-com drama and albeit simple look through the lens of young trans-woman "Ricky's" search for love and to be loved amongst other struggles.

If you're looking for major character developments and

if you're looking for major character developments and tense plot development, I don't think you'll find it in this movie. But that itself is a part of what makes this movie so great. It is fantastic as a romcom/slice of life movie, where we as the audience get to see the life of Rickey, and the challenges that face trans women. It's a fantastic movie that I would recommend anyone who is looking to get away from the political dogma surrounding transgender people and just see the reality that trans people live. For that I think it's a really good movie to show to family members who may have misconceptions regarding trans individuals. The only reason I gave this 4.5 stars instead of 5 is that the homophobic and transphobic characters actions seemed to be forced, and didn't feel natural or motivated by anything other than "ew gay" and the other reason is simply that I wish there was more of this movie to see!

Loved it. First time i have seen a

Loved it. First time i have seen a transgender romcom! Michelle Hendley is absolutely wonderful. I found it charming, sentimental, witty. For me, well worth the watch.
