I wanted to at least like it. Unfortunately

I wanted to at least like it. Unfortunately the "twists and turns" lacked build and connection, and were stretched way too thin. The acting was decent and believable, but the story and flow had way too many holes and questionable threads.

Both Eyes Are Hits, one of the newer releases of 2025, initially appears to position itself as a tense psychological thriller or even a creeping horror film—something designed to pull viewers in and leave them stunned. Instead, what unfolds is a surprisingly uneven experience where the script never quite decides what it wants to be. The premise hints at suspense, but the execution lands far from the gripping film it seems to promise. From the start, the screenplay struggles under the weight of its own dialogue. Scenes feel overly talkative without delivering meaningful impact, creating a sense of heaviness that drags down the pacing. What should build tension instead becomes monotonous, as if the film is speaking at the audience rather than letting the story breathe. By the time the plot attempts to move forward, the tone is already muddled. The lead actress delivers a performance that fluctuates between moments of potential and moments of complete disconnect. At times she seems unsure of the emotional trajectory her character is meant to follow, resulting in scenes that feel unintentionally awkward. Her delivery often lacks the grounding needed to carry the story, and it becomes clear that she wasn’t fully aligned with the assignment the film required of her. The third-act reveal is meant to serve as the film’s big payoff, but it ultimately falls flat. While it isn’t entirely predictable, it also isn’t compelling enough to justify the slow buildup leading to it. Instead of creating shock or excitement, the twist feels like an attempt to disguise earlier weaknesses in the storytelling. Rather than elevating the film, it exposes how underdeveloped the plot truly is. The direction mirrors the screenplay’s inconsistency. It feels as though the filmmaker was torn between multiple visions and shot the film accordingly, resulting in a structure that wanders rather than sharpens. Scenes shift in tone without purpose, and the film lacks the cohesive hand needed to guide it into something impactful. Even strong visual choices can’t compensate for the scattered narrative foundation underneath. In all fairness, Both Eyes Are Hits simply doesn’t deliver on what its marketing or premise suggests. The pacing is uneven, the dialogue overwhelms the story, and the emotional rhythm never finds its footing. With a lack of clear vision in both performance and direction, the film struggles to provide entertainment value. It’s difficult to recommend this one, especially considering the added frustration of paying for a viewing experience that disappoints more than it engages.
