Plot summary

Class 1-A visits Nabu Island where they finally get to do some real hero work. The place is so peaceful that it's more like a vacation... until they're attacked by a villain with an unfathomable Quirk! His power is eerily familiar, and it looks like Shigaraki had a hand in the plan. But with All Might retired and citizens' lives on the line, there's no time for questions. Deku and his friends are the next generation of heroes, and they're the island's only hope.

My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising is a thrilling

My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising is a thrilling showcase of the franchise at its emotional and visual peak—an anime feature that balances heart-pounding spectacle with genuine soul. Director Kenji Nagasaki transforms the familiar shonen formula into something cinematic, delivering breathtaking animation, tightly choreographed action, and a stirring sense of legacy. What truly sets Heroes Rising apart, however, is its focus on the next generation of heroes and the evolving bond between Deku and Bakugo, framed with rare emotional depth. It’s both a love letter to longtime fans and an accessible, adrenaline-charged experience for newcomers—a shining example of how anime films can elevate their source material without losing its heart.

Having not yet seen the most recent movie

Having not yet seen the most recent movie You're Next, this is the best of the other three My Hero Academia movies, mainly for the teamup at the end between Deku and Bakugo, at a level not seen in the TV series. The villain is solid, and the general plot is the best of the first three.
