I was surprised how factual it was. Uncle

I was surprised how factual it was. Uncle Earl would be pround to know Paul Newman played him. His story was complicated but the film makers were able to slice a piece of his story to a coherent one.

An absolute gem. So pleased Ethan Hawke produced

An absolute gem. So pleased Ethan Hawke produced this, giving us an insight to a Texan legend in ‘outlaw country music’. Blaze was a philosopher, comedian and renaissance man, not letting religion get in his way, or anything else. Great performances from Ben Dickey, who l’ve praised before, so underrated or maybe he only chooses good movies that don’t get streamed. Alia Shawkat was a convincing lover and features a lot. I don’t usually enjoy love scenes but this doesn’t spoil the movie as it’s quite cerebral. Bit sad, quite funny, a tiny bit scary and very moving. Happy to have discovered Blaze Foley.
