Plot summary

The Thompson family is accused of murder when a stranger dies at their dinner table. Six months later, family friend Tim visits freelance therapist Dr. Eric Sacks and the story finds it's way to the press. The facts are bent and the details spun as the Thompsons become known to the public as 'The Family of Killers'.

The performance of Colin Hurley as the sweet

The performance of Colin Hurley as the sweet but disturbed Blake is the bright spot of this movie. I wouldn't agree with the synopsis that states Tom Thompson takes pity on Blake; rather it seems that Tom and his wife are both drawn in by Blake's openness and warmth (qualities they clearly lack). But the style of the film is jarring, caught somewhere between a traditional chronological narrative film and a pseudo-documentary. While the "interviews" of the Thompsons reveal quite a bit about the characters, I would prefer to have seen this character development unfold a little more naturally.

Rotten tomatoes are so unreliable that this film

Rotten tomatoes are so unreliable that this film has a 100% rating. I guess all those 7 reviews are from either the film crew or they are paid. This is such a boring and pathetic movie. I don't understand what they really intend by making this film. Totally wasted my 90 minutes.
