Surprisingly not a bad film, I've seen far worse!

I liked it, other than the ending feeling a bit tacked on. I enjoyed how it examines it's various themes and concepts and would've happily sat through another half hour more of similar exploration, particularly if it had less of a "okay let's wrap this up" kind of ending.

@Grim Reaper76 saying "White People and their debauchery. Inventors of CSAM.". This movie is not about childabuse. Childabuse is very common in islamic states and in India. NOT by white people. Violence in marriage is twice as high in islam marriages as by christians. Statistically, if you have ever heard and understood the concept, which I unfortunately doubt.

Is the movie good? It's meh...the writing is surprisingly good for a microbudget indie, but the problem for me is that it's an absolute SLOG to get through and isn't worth it by the end (it's like this film thinks it's on the intellectual level of Primer...and it's just not). There's an abrupt twist inside of a limo toward the end that was disturbing/compelling, but again...it wasn't worth it considering the price to get there. Still not a terrible film, but I'd say manage your expectations before diving into it (oh yeah, and there's TONS of nudity and kink in this film if that moves the needle for you, pun intended, cheers!)

@Spimbo - actually - your comment just reveals that you don't read well. he never said anything about what aronofsky's ''mother'' was ostensibly about. he was talking of how the purported 'meaning' was just an excuse to make something vile. everyone who wants to remain respectable claims that their being obscene is justified by some social commentary.

Wonderful! This was almost a blind-buy for me during the VS black friday weekend. Very pleased to now have the try-before-you-buy option ;)
