Michael Head's Bermondsey Tales is a delightful addition

Michael Head's Bermondsey Tales is a delightful addition to the British gangster genre, embracing its roots with charm and vigor. Despite obvious budget constraints and some noticeable interference in the editing suite, the film shines through its engaging characters and snappy dialogue. The set pieces strike a perfect balance between feeling refreshingly original and nostalgically familiar, making for an experience that is both novel and true to its influences. Ultimately, Bermondsey Tales succeeds as a heartfelt love letter to the genre, capturing its essence while bringing its own unique flavour to the table
