Plot summary

The son of a veteran named Agus was faced with the shadow of his father's absence, so he grew up to be an undisciplined child. Until the veteran died and made his son follow in his father's footsteps to enter the military world.

This is very bad. It portrays the Indonesians as being the good guys when in reality they were like the Nazis, invading Timor raping, pillaging, slaughtering and torturing.

This movie is incredibly insensitive to an incredibly difficult time in Timorese history. The movie paints Timorese resistance members as crazed animals and pictures indonesia and indonesian culture as just. The climax of the film was the ultimate disgust to Timorese history. The film blames the suffering of the timorese people on the actions of the resistance when its commonly documented that the Indonesian army used scorched earth tactics to cripple the timorese economy. The film's rendition of Xanana, renowned war hero, is completley false. Xanana famously ordered that no soldier is to engage in combat around civilian areas, instead the film paints him as a crazed warlord which wants to attack the capital and burn down villages. This movie defends genocide and acts as propganda for the indonesian government.
