Wow, amazing is the incredible ignorance posted here.
The proof of the pudding is in the eating!! Countries that ban widespread gun ownership and do not arm the police find that criminals no longer want guns to defend themselves from the police. Social conditions need to be improved in areas dominated by gangs. The right-wing denies both solutions for gun violence. Thirdly drug addiction must be treated as a health problem. If addicts are treated, the drug market dries up, corruption declines, and society can be rehabilitated. However, conservatives see the penal system as a great money-spinner and fight this solution. The latest country to successfully try this fix is Portugal. Previously Liverpool and other municipalities had successfully done this.
