Plot summary

Foreign Legion officer Galoup recalls his once glorious life, training troops in the Gulf of Djibouti. His existence there was happy, strict and regimented, until the arrival of a promising young recruit, Sentain, plants the seeds of jealousy in Galoup's mind.

You put a band of so called soldiers

You put a band of so called soldiers, ask them to do exercises, wash clothes, eat, while you film them and then join all these scenes and call it a movie... There's no plot (apart from the very end, 2-3 minutes). The movie is so slow I had to put it in 2x and even then it looked slow. Dialogues are rubbish. Is there a weird movie thing of giving high marks to Denis Lavant crap movies of the passing of the century?

Nothing happens in this film. I thought something

Nothing happens in this film. I thought something was going to happen in the plot…but no. Nothing except what easily could have happened in the first 15 minutes. This should have been a short film. A very short film. In, fact, maybe a 30-second commercial for Calvin Klein green pants. I recommend only watching it if you’re very into watching young men in the French Foreign Legion, stretching, doing calisthenics, hitting the obstacle course, and doing very mundane things, like ironing shirts and shoveling dirt (well, mostly rocks). [But I cannot recommend it.]
