100% "Batman: Year One" not only adapts its

100% "Batman: Year One" not only adapts its source material with authenticity, and does it with style. It perfectly recreates iconic comic panels from the original; and makes minor changes to improve the story.

I understand that animation has become a medium

I understand that animation has become a medium to tell stories to people of all ages and maturities, but this movie feels like it's trying to be unnecessarily mature. It's definitely a hard PG-13 and stretches the boundaries of what is allowed in PG-13 movies. It's got a lot of language and uses the one f-bomb you're allowed in a PG-13 movie. There's brief nudity and a pretty large amount of blood and bloody kills. It's a little jarring to see all this happen in animation. But other than feeling like it's trying to be too mature, the movie is very good. All the voice acting is very good and the animation is also very good. The plot is good and resembles that of Matt Reave's "The Batman," which was also a hard PG-13. Overall, "Batman:Year One" is good but not great. Worth a watch if you're a big superhero fan or specifically a big fan of Batman.
