A very well made film that exposes the

A very well made film that exposes the dirty side of the salmon `farming` industry. An industry that sells itself as environmentally clean, producing a natural product, while the facts couldn`t be further from the truth. Salmon `farming` is a dirty industry that creates widespread environmental pollution and this film exposes exactly that, while showing how the industry could easily clean itself up. A well made expose of an industry that relies on PR to present a contaminated product as clean and nutritious. You just couldn`t make it up.

Lots of opinionating and pretty shots, not much

Lots of opinionating and pretty shots, not much science. This bad faith documentary cherry picks examples and shocking footage to demonize fish hatcheries, but doesn't actually support any of its claims with scientific research. Statistics 101: correlation does not equal causation; just because a salmon run declined after a hatchery was built does not mean the decline was caused by the hatchery. Anyone with an 8th grade education should know that. Basically, Artifishal presents an intriguing hypothesis and punctuates it with a period rather than a question mark. I want to learn about the possible harms and benefits of hatcheries, not be bludgeoned with a moralizing, sensationalized propaganda piece. This topic certainly merits further exploration and research, and I'm truly undecided on the efficacy of hatcheries, but I'm worried this film will unnecessarily polarize and turn people against an important tool in restoring salmon runs based on a few questionable examples and associations.
