Plot summary

Arthur loses his fortune for staying with Linda, right as the two were preparing to adopt a child. As their marriage suffers, Arthur plans for a way to get his money back, but first he must sober up and get a real job.

Dudley Moore's titular character remains iconic, but Arthur 2: On the Rocks is dry on laughs and poor in ingenuity.

I've watched this several times on TV and

I've watched this several times on TV and more recently on DVD. It's not as bad as the critics would have you believe. I enjoyed revisiting Arthur's world, picking up where the first film left off. It is nowhere near as good as the first film, but I liked the Arthur character, and this film shows how he moved on. It's very rare for a sequel to be as good as the original but this was not a terrible movie, and I'm glad it got made. For anyone who enjoyed the first movie, it is something worth watching in my opinion.
