Plot summary

Twenty years ago, Arlen Faber wrote a book about spirituality that became wildly popular. These days, he's a curmudgeonly recluse who only enjoys the company of his chiropractor, Elizabeth. As Elizabeth's warmth starts to melt Arlen's cold heart, he comes to realize what love really means.

It's cute. A swing and a miss, but a good effort. Almost insightful. Almost romantic. Almost a comedy. Almost a drama. Almost a really good movie.

Just discovered it 6/2026. Climbed out from under

Just discovered it 6/2026. Climbed out from under a rock to just discover Hindman as a writer/director. Saw the RT review and disagreed with most reviews. Found Hindman's SFChron interview in 2006 and thought, this is what I saw. I'm hoping that surfacing on Netflix in 2026, it gets a 2d shot at the reviews I think it deserves... I think the acting was superb and held the line of what Hindman was seeking. We are all scrambling to find something and ourselves, and settle on things that really can't be found outside. ...

I enjoyed it : ) Huge fan of

I enjoyed it : ) Huge fan of Jeff Daniels. Is it a perfect script - no. But here's the thing- I appreciate the honesty - raw real people. We need that - in addition to the sanitary dialogue in scripts.
