What if Covid-19 during the polish pandemic during the 2020 era, and a Toxic Contamination on the water polluted system the second half of the film would infected and turns to a virus breed of zombies? We get this type of indie Polish Horror film. This is actually my first Polish Horror film and personally not a bad job with the zombie designed and how they look like Toxic infection themselves.
Xawery Zulawski's "Apokawixa" is a bold foray into the horror-comedy genre, a cinematic concoction that blends the absurdity of teenage rebellion with the grim realities of ecological catastrophe. The film's premise is simple yet effective: a party that spirals spreads into chaos madness as a mysterious infection spreads among the revelers, turning their carefree celebration into a fight for survival. The director's vision is brought to life through a cast of characters that embody the quintessential high school stereotypes, each adding their unique flavor to the unfolding drama. The performances, while uneven at times, contribute to the film's charm, with certain actors delivering standout moments that punctuate the narrative's dark humor.
"Apokawixa" is a feast for the senses, with cinematography that captures the beauty and menace of the seaside setting. The special effects, though modest, are effectively utilized to create a sense of unease and escalating horror. The film's pacing is brisk 115 minutes of scenes and skip the five extra minutes of credits, with a runtime of 120 minutes that ensures the story moves at a clip that keeps the audience engaged. The script, co-written by Zulawski, Bernas, and Kazula, is peppered with witty dialogue and clever nods to genre tropes, making "Apokawixa" a self-aware addition to the horror-comedy canon. In Zakonczenie, "Apokawixa" is a film that deftly balances humor and horror, offering a fresh perspective on the genre. While it may not reinvent the wheel, it spins it with enough flair and originality to make it a worthwhile watch. The film's ability to reflect the anxieties of its time while providing escapism makes it a notable entry in Polish cinema. This is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity. To jest film, ktory znajdzie oddzwiek wsrod tych, ktorzy przeszli przez niepewnosc globalnego kryzysu i wylonili sie z odnowionym uznaniem dla absurdalnosci I grozy zycia.

This is a very funny movie. In my perception, it's like a blend of "From Dusk Till Dawn" and "Mlode Wilki" (a Polish movie made 20 years ago about people of the same age as the protagonists of "Apo"). The bad acting by the young Polish actors, except for a girl named Lui who is quite interesting, actually adds a sense of humor to this movie. I'm a fan of Andrzej Zulawski, so I will be watching movies by his son Xawery, who may not be as gifted as his father, but who knows, maybe with this movie he'll pioneer something like "comedy horror" in Polish cinematography. I cannot recall any similar movie produced in Poland.
