Plot summary

Elle Overton, a college student, becomes obsessed with Katie Kampenfelt, the mysterious heroine of a novel she's just finished reading. When Elle, battling depression, becomes convinced that Katie is actually a flesh-and-blood human being, it sets her on a reckless and terrifying course. An exploration of the potentially dangerous allure of the Internet, the film picks up where its predecessor, the cult hit Ask Me Anything, left off.

Kind of like a long, shaggy dog joke

Kind of like a long, shaggy dog joke. It's moves slowly but interestingly, and I kept waiting for the psycho to appear, or the killer, or... something. It does, but much, much later than usual in this kind of film. Actually rather satisfying in the end, but strange. Sammi Hanratti in the lead could not be better or more adorable -- and it tells several stories beside the relationship with the possibly non-existent Katy. Worth a watch.

First we have Undiscovered Gyrl the novel then the film Ask Me Anything with Britt Robertson, next we have this hidden gem with the casting of now uber famous Samantha Hanratty. Like all Burnett projects, his casting choices are prophetic for most actors and actresses that will become some of our favorites. He gave John Slattery his first role as well. If you are lost in the (now) trilogy, best be advised that you see the other film or read the other books before delving into the final book that was recently released called The Last Girl Podcast. Allison Burnett is a male and in my opinion understands women better than I ever have. This is another great project by him, I hope he directs another film so you can see it all play out.
