Plot summary

Judge Hardy takes his family to New York City, where Andy quickly falls in love with a socialite. He finds the high society life too expensive, and eventually decides that he liked it better back home.

Andy Hardy (Mickey Rooney) gets in dutch again

Andy Hardy (Mickey Rooney) gets in dutch again after boasting to his school chums of a romance with "number one debutante" Daphne Fowler (Diana Lewis). Once Judge Hardy goes to New York on a case, though, it's put up or shut up - with Andy learning another lesson of humility and respect. Still, Rooney's cartoonish acting style is a lot of fun - and Judy Garland adds extra sweetness (and a couple of songs) to the mix.
