Plot summary

After a devastating battle against an army of drones leaves Sergeant Barbara Slade paralyzed, her only chance for survival is to be placed inside an artificial, android body. However, once inside a cybernetic unit, Slade’s identity is mistaken, leading her to a cell of antigovernment activists and to a mind-bending plan that threatens to destroy everything she has made sacrifices to protect.

There's something about the imprecise performance of humans

There's something about the imprecise performance of humans in the indie space that is more comforting to watch than movies made by ultra-precise, big-name production companies. The stand-out feature in this movie is the special effects. The first views of future tech drone attacks show that the obsession with sci-fi rpg games is shared by the screenwriter and the fx team. While the drone attack scenes do little to give a sense of where drones are coming from, or what their goals are beyond shooting stuff, the drones themselves look immaculate. The dystopian world combined with the low-budget aesthetic offset by an expert implementation of the artificial on-screen elements makes a statement about indie filmmaking and the threat of artifical intelligence in the creative space. This war with the machines calls for a special set of very refined skills.

So many good ideas wasted

I love B science-fiction movies and expect bad CGI, cheesy effects, questionable writing, and uneven acting, and this movie has that in spades. I also expect a semi-coherent plot. This film doesn't come close.The CGI was good for the genre. There was a fair attempt at world-building and the initial plot was interesting although I'm told it was ripped from "Surrogates". The plot then became extremely and needlessly convoluted. The confusing ending left too many unanswered questions. The romantic arc of the main characters was also rushed and did not feel marginally genuine. The requisite sex scene was shoe-horned into wherever they could fit it in, it would seem.With better editing and more exposition this movie could be almost passable for a dedicated, B-movie buff like myself.

Pretty terrible

Poor acting, poor CGI, poor writing... I don't know anything about directing but that was likely poor as well. This was just senseless. I almost want to go back to see where I got lost, but I find that I don't care. Nothing about this followed logically from anything else, and the editor must have taken an acid trip in the middle of everything. Thank goodness it was only about 80 minutes of my life wasted. There seemed to be a hint of a plot struggling to get out, but it never seemed to be able to quite make it. And why did the sister look like two completely different actresses? The battle scenes were ridiculous, and why does the AI even care about the humans? Why would the humans be fighting among themselves? Why was this movie ever made? Why did I watch it? Just, WHY?
