I don't know or care to argue the facts of the story but objectively this is Clint Eastwood's worst film. It's poorly crafted and often jarring in a confusing way. Probably the biographies are better as this film is a rough watch.

There are a lot of discussion about the story of the movie, well one thing I know for sure that the movie is great to watch! 8/10

The realism in this propoganda movies is comparable to Nazis invading eastern europe and "Freeing" then from russians.

This film was intended to improve the image of the American soldier, but it was exactly the opposite. There was a lot of deception and lying. The film showed the miserable psychological state of the soldiers and their lack of conviction in the wars that the United States is fighting. The American sniper was the only one convinced of that, in addition to not mentioning the issue of his killing.

This is a tense and cruel modern war movie: realistic settings and cinematography, deep and grounded performances, horrifying brutality, and really tense editing and action. Bradley Cooper arguably gives his best performance here, but the movie itself doesn't cover the same levels of brutality or dark themes as WWII or Vietnam films do, and many of the other characters are pretty stale, so the overall product comes across as a little forgettable. The final twenty minutes are seriously excellent, though. Fair enough, and just an opinion here, it's not Clint Eastwood's absolute best movie ever directed; but the overall experience gives you a great sense of patriotism. Great representation of a hero. Glad he got the recognition he deserved. Bradley Cooper did a fantastic job.

don't pay attention to the negative remarks left by barely literate individuals. this movie is 100% Clint Eastwood. if you are a fan of Eastwood no other explanation is needed. Kyle was a not very likable man but he was a hero in every sense of the word. For Kyle honor was everything and he is one of the few who have the intestinal fortitude to live life uncompromised. His demise was unworthy of his life. This vet was wiping his eyes when the end credits rolled. Not enough Chris Kyle's left in this world and that is a tragic shame.
