Plot summary

The story of the rise and fall of the first American-born drug lord in Mexico, this tale of power, money, greed and betrayal amongst rival members of the drug cartels finds American gangster Erik Vasquez scheming to become the top dog in the Mexican underworld, only to find himself making enemies out of both the powerful cartels and his own allies.

Well worth a watch. I like that it

Well worth a watch. I like that it clocked in at less than two hours. And I like that it doesn't glamorize the guys who run the cartels, those guys who claim to venerate loyalty but who turn on each other at the drop of a hat. I don't like the violence, but I think it's important to portray just how unbelievably cruel these people can be. It's hard to comprehend how a person can get pleasure out of tormenting someone else, particularly someone who is innocent of any betrayal, i.e. family members of presumed traitors.

Not bad, The cautionary tale of contraband and

Not bad, The cautionary tale of contraband and betrayal.. Based very loosely on real life narcos. The moral of the story is it doesn't end well for the bad guys. Their glory is short lived.. Not a blockbuster but the story will keep you glued on what happens next.

We really wern't watching but honestly didn’t need

We really wern't watching but honestly didn’t need to. This movie is probably the worst movie I’ve ever seen. It was billed as having Danny Trejo in it, but he was barely in it. I feel like they pulled the rug out from under us with that one. No one in the movie was American so the title was also misleading as well. I can’t believe they made this movie. 1 out of 5 stars would not recommend this movie.
