Set in Soweto this film looks at the realtionship between three people from different backgrounds against the ugliness and prejudice which crippled Africa. I found Ariyon Bakara's character Vusisizue very moving, He is a man is haunted by his unrealised childhood dreams which he records as a story in an old exercise book. Paul Bettany plays his usual dark character and embodies a man who struggles to escape from the prejudices of his parents. Emma (Loiuse Lombard), who forms a close friendhip with Vusisizwe has no idea what she is about to unfurl when she invites him to spend the night with her.

Well..roughly made movie from Africa?? Paul Bettany was the only reason why I watched this. The first half of the movie was unimpressive, but the last half completely made up for that. Of course, Paul was in the entire last half...that alone made the movie for me. The storyline is excellent, and the acting superb. They truly captured the pain of living in South Africa, and the toil it took on their emotional well-being.
