Any movie with Kathy Bates in it is

Any movie with Kathy Bates in it is bound to be good. I'm usually not a fan of Lifetime movies, but this one is a cut above. My only quibble: the argument scenes between her and Robin Thomas just don't quite ring true and things seem to magically resolve between them too quickly. I read that in the book that the movie was based on the couple does get divorced. Great, uplifting ending!

Helt ok TV-film som er verdt å se kun fordi Kathy Bates spiller i den. Bates har selv regien og leverer flott skuespill som alltid, selv om troverdigheten i historien er så som så: Kathy Bates spiller en velrenommert restaurantanmelder som i en post-midtlivskrise ønsker å utforske en potensiell ny karriere: som ambulansesykepleier - uten attføring fra NAV that is!

This was quite good, but Cathy Bates always

This was quite good, but Cathy Bates always is. She's funny and relatable here in a heartwarming and bittersweet story of a long term marriage going through some changes. Bates plays an anxiety ridden food writer who experiences a sort of mid life crises and decides to become an EMT despite her fear of among other things closed spaces (like the back of an ambulance) Nobody including 'Jane' believes she'll make it through the training and her struggles provide the comic relief. When she receives her certificate and joins the volunteer fire dept it causes problems within her marriage and recently sober husband. Based on actual events and also directed by Bates. 02.12.14
