Plot summary

An enterprising producer believes he has hit upon a winning concept: a program of original animated shorts set to classical music. Undeterred by warnings that this has already been done by an American named 'Prisney,' he rallies an orchestra of geriatric women, a bullish conductor, and an animator that he keeps locked in the dungeon. What could go wrong?

Take that Mr Bisney! Well, ok, this weird production is not "Fantasia", and even for me at parts it's too weird, but there are also lovely artistic moments in it. (Not even close to "VIP, mio fratello superuomo, though.)

Ehh; this was an interesting watch, but i

ehh; this was an interesting watch, but i don't know that it's as good as everyone is saying. i quite liked a few of the animations but it's impossible not to compare it to Disney's Fantasia - 9 our of every other 10 reviews do - & this is just not up to that same caliber. i also wasn't particularly a fan of the in-between live-action sequences either; i would've rather just gone from one animation to the other.

Okay so to make a bonkers animated film

Okay so to make a bonkers animated film set to music we need the following ingredients: 1. The idea of Fantasia. 2. The comedy stylings of Monty Python. 3. The weirdness of Yellow Submarine. 4. A genius in the animation legend of Bruno Bozzetto. And 5. The nudity you could find in a Ralph Bakshi film! These things together should not work, but they all blend perfectly to make one of the most insanely enjoyable animated films I have ever seen. In just the live action segments you have an old lady orchestra, an irrate conductor, an animator held against his will, a gorilla on the loose, and an mc attempting to hold everything together. In the animated segments you could go from something funny with Slavonic Dance to crying with Valse triste. This is a wonderful export from Italy that is definitely worth your time to view.
