I was left feeling like the story wasn't

I was left feeling like the story wasn't told very well. It lacked context, or motivation, and didn't have the horror or tension required to carry it. I lost interest at several points from about halfway through. It's a shame, because I felt the concept had real potential

A nonsensical, pretentious, boring mess. The misleading beginning

A nonsensical, pretentious, boring mess. The misleading beginning of the movie might make you think that you are about to watch a horror movie with an intriguing and mysterious plot... Well, that's simply not true. Halfway through the movie, you will realise that there is no mystery at all, but just a confusing mess. The characters not reacting like human beings, the extremely lengthy shots, the really slow and unbearable unfolding of the scenes and the plot gatekeeping any information... All of this makes for a dreadful chore of an experience. It's not even scary, nor chilling. (My Irish boyfriend told me I owe him big times)

All You Need Is Death (2023) Awful and Senseless (11,724 – 27 May 2025 – by Claudio Carvalho) Sometimes the viewer sees a movie with great expectation to learn the culture of a country. That was my intention when I read the synopsis of “All You Need Is Death” (2023) since the story takes place in Ireland. The beginning is strange, but also intriguing, with a young couple researching folkloric songs in the countryside of Ireland. Until the moment they find Rita Concannon, performed by Olwen Fouéré, the plot is weird but makes sense. When Agnes secretly records the mysterious song with a hidden tape recorder, and Aleks stops her with his car on, the plot is a complete mess. Hard to understand how producers inject their money in such messy story. Don’t the producers have people to read the screenplay before investing money and foreseeing that the film is confused and senseless and will not work? My vote is two.
