Struggles so hard to be "inspirational" that it

Struggles so hard to be "inspirational" that it sets up multiple real, complex issues only to have them be shallow or worse end with "my little girl is growing up and i cant kiss her boo boos better" and "Aw I love you mom" instead of actually exploring Ruthie's parentification and enmeshment in any detail whatsoever.
