Plot summary

Over the course of one eventful evening, the anniversary celebration of the musical and romantic partners Aurelius Rex and Delia Lane, a jealous, ambitious drummer, Johnny Cousin, attempts to tear the interracial couple apart.

This Gothic Jazz Shakespearean film was the beginning of my love for the Criterion Classic Film collection. Every director has done a variety versions of Othello...but this is the best one!???????

Jazzy little noir film from the early '60s

Jazzy little noir film from the early '60s features some of the jazz giants of the day including Dave Bruebeck and Charles Mingus in a nightclub mis-en-scene. Most memorable drum solo at the end of a film until 'Whiplash' !
