All Hallows’ Eve: Trickster landed with a lot of promise. Halloween horror, anthology style scares, and the legacy of the "All Hallows’ Eve" name behind it should give fans of horror shorts and indie fright flicks something to look forward to. In practice, though, I found it to be deeply disappointing and ultimately frustrating. Right from the start, things felt off. What was supposed to feel like a chilling, creepy horror anthology instead came across as disjointed and uneven. The collection of segments within the film fail to deliver any consistent mood or build sustained tension. Some stories land awkwardly, others are so poorly paced they lose any sense of dread entirely. Rather than unifying under a strong horror identity, the movie feels scattered, a mishmash of half formed ideas and weak scares. The horror elements themselves rarely reach the level of true fear. Instead of creeping terror or unsettling build ups, many segments rely on shock value and quick, cheap thrills, which for me lacked the impact needed to keep me invested. The violence and gore are oddly flat, and the scares feel hollow rather than scary. For a movie that seems to want to earn its place among horror anthology flicks, it trades subtle dread for surface level shock, and the result feels cheap. Acting and character work do little to salvage the experience. With so many short segments and little time devoted to character development, there is almost no emotional anchor for any story. It is hard to care about what happens when you are not given enough reason to care in the first place. Watching the film becomes less about fear or suspense and more about enduring random horror vignettes until it is over. The production and direction give the impression of a rushed job. Scenes jump between tones, segments vary dramatically in execution quality, and the anthology structure, which should offer variety, ends up feeling like a patchwork of missed chances. The horror tropes are recycled, and the film seldom surprises. Instead, it relies on stereotypes and clichés to carry it forward. All told, All Hallows’ Eve: Trickster is a letdown. It fails to deliver a cohesive experience, memorable scares, or any real payoff. For fans of horror anthologies hoping for something to chill or disturb, or to capture the kind of raw, gritty horror spirit that made the original All Hallows’ Eve stand out, this film is unlikely to satisfy. I cannot recommend it, except maybe to viewers who enjoy horror movies so bad they become almost comical in their failures.

Maniacal beginnings, foul behavior has begun. Okay, so it's funnier than scary, but maybe the next one will catch up. Next, a throwback to 70s slasher films, not executed with any pizzazz, I'm sorry to say. Sybil Danning is the best part of this next offering for us, sorry. Finally, something to sink our teeth into, a little madness goes a long way with a Navajo folktale. Ooooh, it looks like we've got satanist in our midst folks. Sorry, nothing special here guys. If nothing else, this final segment is funny, but mostly yuck...
