Booooor-ringgg!

I'll give indies a chance, regardless of the score here, hoping to find another gem amongst them.Defo not this one!Short zombie tales, pointless, plotless, idiotic characters, ...and *not scary *!Not even worthy as background noise while multitasking

Ignore the nay-sayers and give this a chance. I thought it was a fairly good collection of short films.

There are two types of anthology films. Ones like 'Creepshow' where all the segments are filmed specifically to be in the film and others like 'After The Flames' where a collection of independent short films, made by different directors over a number of years are collected together, sometimes with a new wrap-around story to bring them all together. I say that because the nay-sayers often don't seem to appreciate that when reviewing more modern anthologies. The stories here do vary in quality but I thought were generally very well done considering most of them had next to no budget. My favourites were 'Solia Gratia' which was very cleverly written, 'Journey', a student film made by a then teenager, which was beautiful and a very different 'end of the world' idea, 'To Live From The Land', which leaves you thinking at its finale and 'Road Trip', which despite its extremely low budget, was emotional. I would also single out 'Shift' which had very good SFX all things considered, although it does end very suddenly.I think the weakest part was the wrap-around, that was made to bring all these films together. Whilst it was a nice idea, I found a couple of the young adult actors annoying, pretentious and condescending and the budget constraints were very noticeable. This isn't about the wrap-around story though, it's about the seven shorts contained within and whilst some of the acting isn't brilliant, all displayed some merit. Not everyone is a Kubrick or Kurasawa and it's not easy to make a film so I'll give them all credit for at least trying. Of course everyone is entitled to an opinion and we all like different things but I've seen much worse, more expensive, films.

Pretty fun anthology series.

The film wasn't as polished as it could be, but it wasn't amateurish either. It was a fun watch overall; and didn't lack too much quality either.

Anthologies are always a bit tough, because naturally some stories will be stronger than others. I thought the first two were the weakest, and at first I thought they were sticking too much to a narrow theme. But then they got a lot more interesting.

With some pretty strong stories in there. I thought the kids telling the stories was a nice way to have them presented together. I did see the end coming, but it doesn't come from nowhere there are little clues throughout. Which is fun.
