Plot summary

A visual delight but that's about it

I'm not that familiar with Adam Green's music so I may not have been the ideal audience for this movie. It is a retelling of the Aladdin folk tale told through a very warped sensibility. Green made a virtue of the movie's limited budget by constructing sets and props with brightly painted cardboard, so it is never dull to look at it. But the script is only occasionally amusing and the acting (with the exception of Alia Shawkat) is atrocious. For diehard Adam Green fans only.
