Plot summary

Unable to cope with his military father's sudden death in combat, quick-tempered teen, Conor, starts getting into serious trouble. During an intense lacrosse camp, his father's old friend challenges Conor to get his life on track and become a man.

By-the-numbers movie that never dares to color outside

By-the-numbers movie that never dares to color outside of the lines. Blending two cliches into one sentence is lazy, but appropriate for this movie that tries too hard to mine depth out of a shallow, predictable script.

A warrior's heart isn't anything earth shattering. Lutz does a decent job of playing a hot headed lacrosse player that loses his dad and often his temper. He finds himself knocking down a shed in the forest with a marine in order to "rebuild who he is". Cue braveheart lacrosse ending. Hallmark meh.
