Plot summary

13 yrs after the American Civil War, in a strange town in New Mexico, a gunfighter and his gambler woman search for the lost Confederate fortune. Things turn deadly when they cross paths with a demented preacher who has other plans.

Vurtuoso Acting, Not Much More

I recognized Joe Cornet from another film and was no more impressed with him in this one. As both a writer and actor, he's just OK, in my opinion. Had it been only him and his script, I doubt that I could have watched this movie all the way through. Neither are especially riveting.However, the film is saved by some superb acting of a couple of the costars, as well as some nice scenery. The performances of these costars can be gripping, and kept me watching. Strange, although Cornet doesn't impress me, he clearly has the odd sort of talent that enables him to bring out the best in others.
