Plot summary

In order to save her daytime soap drama from cancellation, head writer Maggie must convince Darin, fan favorite actor and her real-life ex-boyfriend, to return to the show.

Hallmark basics. They have the formula and stay

Hallmark basics. They have the formula and stay with it. For me it was a bit of a miss because maybe the chemistry between the main actors was not really there. I've seen Jen Lilley play way better in other films but here... Again maybe it was on the missing chemistry. Like I said, its a Hallmark basics so you almost right away get who will end up with who and how they will get there. Its almost like Hallmark is an academy for teaching aspiring people to become directors. This movie felt a bit slower as plot developed but its everything you would expect from a hallmark movie.

Fresh Idea-Weak Storyline

Loved the soap opera angle-different for Hallmark. I was excited to watch Hallmark stars Ryan Paevey and Jen Lilly's chemistry on screen but found it weak at times. They seemed somewhat distant until the end kiss. I wish there was more storyline development and less music. I did like that Paevey's character had a decent storyline independent of the female lead-not always the case with male leads in Hallmark movies. Usually its all about the female lead.All in all I gave it a 5-good for one watch but not a DVR save.
