A Futile and Stupid Gesture is a very funny Netflix film that is easy to enjoy from start to finish. It has a sharp sense of humor and a playful style that makes the whole experience feel lively and entertaining. What works best is how fast the jokes keep coming without the movie losing its charm. The film has a smart, chaotic energy that fits the subject matter really well, and it makes the comedy feel fresh instead of forced. The performances help a lot too, since the cast brings a lot of personality to each scene. Even when the film gets a little wild, it stays fun and watchable because of the strong comedic timing and constant wit. Overall, this is a clever and very amusing Netflix movie that is worth checking out for anyone who likes offbeat comedy. I would rate it a 7/10.

I really enjoyed this look at the founding

I really enjoyed this look at the founding of The National Lampoon's Magazine and movie series. Very much in the spirit of the mockumentary about the starting of Saturday Night Live last year this is a fun an interesting look at the times and the development of material we all have come to know and love. More interesting is the attention to the character actors, portrayed throughout, that it is fun to recognize the portayals of young comedic actors and actresses like Gilda Radner, John Belushi, and more. Not sure how much is true but I enjoyed it for what it is. The acting is good. The sets and costumes are good. Worth watching.
