This is perhaps the Turkish film with the best opening scene; it is rare to find such a compact scene that contributes so much to the story. While it may be challenging to interpret, the director's effort to create meaning—standing apart from a purely naturalistic approach—is truly admirable. It is also a film in which Münir Özkul works wonders.
