All of the budget was spent on the emotional conversation bits. I was severely confused at first because the action parts were abysmal but the actual conversations (dialogs and cinematography/photography of the scene) and heart-to-hearts were done pretty well. They kept me watching. One of the last hand-to-hand combats (or, rather head-to-face?) was comically fantastic though that was definitely not the intention. I enjoyed the cleric (or somewhat similar role??) the most, he alone got the review 2 more stars.

My most annoying missed detail questions: the spoiler parts

Are they army or marines? The main guy got dishonorable discharged from one then joined the other? Do bayonets go through 1 person and kill another with 1 hit? Why is it a kill tunnel but no one can land a shot? The special effects are the absolute worst part... bombs? Really? You call those bombs? Mild fireworks. The kind approved in states that have bans on fireworks. At best. Yeesh.

This is the worst historical war movies I have ever seen. I was taken in by the story line, and was hoping for a gem, instead it was a lump of moldy bread. Almost nothing in this movie was historically accurate. The weapons were all wrong and some looked like toys purchased at the local convenience store. Why didn't the procducers hire just one historian or technical advisor. Uniforms were all wrong, hand to hand combat scenes were laughable. It was as if a group of pre-reens made this movie. Cannot overstate how awful it was. Really did a dis-service to the families of the men who lived through this terrible battle. I can't believe any streaming service actually agreed to air this content.
