"Based on a True Story" ... Yeah there really was a Second War War .... take the rest with a grain of salt methinks ;)
The review by kuranda-85493 is perfectly spot on. Maybe Hollyweed should go back to fighting Aliens and saving the USA from Zombies, flying sharks, and instant ice ages. It is what they are best at making up everything they show.
This movie is not on Malaya during WWII but on Solomon Islands, a country in Melanesia. Short form is Malay. However, the movie is made with minimal budget.
Malay is a race of the majority population in Malaysia, before independence of Malaysia it is called Malaya. Malay form 60% of Malaysia's demographics, the largest ethnic group in the country.
