Plot summary

A few years after her mother's passing, 17-year old Tennie's reputation at school takes a major hit before the prom. To further complicate the daily rigors of teenage life, her father, Robert, an advertising executive who has since rebuilt his business, tries to do the same with his relationship with his daughter. Against his therapist's advice, overeager Robert tries really hard to get close to Tennie by showing his own way of caring. He tries to find out about his daughter's personal life with the help of his newly appointed, 19 year-old driver/intern, Jack. Practically being raised by her extended family, Tennie although very academically inclined and mature for her age, with compassion for others, she's got a touch of sarcasm, and a hint of rebelliousness. After she catches on to her father's plan, Tennie realizes that in order to get her father off of her back, she needs to convince him to find a lady friend.

10E is the story of an emotionally stunted

10E is the story of an emotionally stunted Armenian father trying to connect with his insufferably bratty teenage daughter. The premise is interesting, as were the characters, as unlikable as they were, but the movie is flawed in its execution. Tennie's father, Robert (writer, director, producer Vahik Pirhamzei), is a difficult character to read. He rarely comes off as sincere, and I couldn't tell whether he was a sarcastic character, or if Pirhamzei was a poor actor. He is alarmingly self-centered, has a chip on his shoulder and treats people like garbage, yet we're asked to root for him to win over his daughter. Tennie (newcomer Poema Oleas Mekhitarian) is an annoying brat, whose few redeeming qualities are sort of tacked on at the end, and the script is oddly obsessed with her, as are all the secondary characters. These characters don't really deserve to be happy, and neither the script nor the acting are sophisticated enough to make this fact compelling. The jokes mostly land and flow naturally from the situations, and the dialogue is surprisingly witty at times. 10E is an good premise with a singular vision, but it is also a little weird and inscrutable.

Its a fun movie. with low budget they

its a fun movie. with low budget they did a great production. if you want to feel good and enjoy your 2 hrs go see it.
